ONLINE LESSONS
More and more fiddlers are taking lessons online via Zoom and Facetime these days. A student can take lessons from a teacher who lives very far away as long as the student has access to the internet and a reasonably good connection. Most computers come with a camera but if not, a clip-on camera can be purchased fairly inexpensively. FaceTime on iPhones is also an excellent way to communicate for lessons.
How much do online lessons cost?
$80 an hour for weekly lessons – minimum three lessons per month - fulltime, regular students
$40 a half hour per week – minimum three lessons per month - fulltime, regular students
If you are in Europe, the prices are 70 euros per hour and 35 euros per half hour. .
If you wish to take a lesson from time to time, not every week, the cost is $100 per one hour lesson. In Europe, 85 euros per hour.

MASTER LESSONS IN PERSON
If you are coming to Nashville or SW France or wherever I happen to be and wish to schedule a private lesson as a one time or very occasional event, I charge $100 for a one hour session. (85 euros per hour)

I have been teaching people how to play the fiddle since I was 14 years old. I give private lessons, group lessons in private workshop settings and have taught at many of the best music camps in the world.

No! I have taught people how to play who are brand new to the instrument. Mark O’Connor was one such student way back when.
